Whether you choose battery or wired installation, the battery-powered Nest Doorbell cannot continuously record 24/7 video history, even with a Nest Aware subscription. However, you can still talk and listen to visitors at your door, even if you're away. The Nest Doorbell requires the Google Home app and a free Google account; it is not compatible with the Nest app or the Nest site. The Nest Doorbell camera has a tall vertical field of view, making it easier to see people from head to toe or packages left on the ground. You can also keep a close eye on high-traffic areas with Activity Zones.
